Tangled Snakes

I experimented new animations, level design, game mechanics and created new skins from scratch. The experiments were made in Unity and After Effects. 

The marketing strategy for this game followed a clear structure: first find the best level size using the simplest snake skin. Then testing colors and new skins with background experiments. Most of the performing iterations focused on new effects and sounds. 
The gameplay was always the same: a few winning moves at the start to understand the goal, followed by frustrating mistakes.
I also experimented new mechanics, contexts and intros. However the top 3 displayed above focused on the same level with recurring elements: sand or nature background, trails or farts VFx, silly SFx on fails, undetermined gameplay.
The previous year level and snake skins became the norm for Tangled Snakes creatives.

A huge part of the top creatives used the farts animation (see video above), resulting in multiple comments on app stores and TikTok asking how to get them in the game. It is a good example on how we can bring traffic and interest on social media and reviews by adding extra elements in a marketing campaign.

The farts animation is still performing well on UA campaigns to this day and was part of the production calendar to be released in the next game update.
